I can't wait for it to get smaller and recognize speech. It would stop a lot of arguments over whats true in my family.
Also, last night i had a weird dream about Watson. You could ask him questions about the future and he'll answer them. I asked him what number would roll on the dice and he predicted it.
Q: What's the meaning of life?
Watson: 42

What are the chances Of that happening since they just basically refreshed it? Look how long it took them last time...
Are you saying Apple just refreshed the Mac Pro? They did not (http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/#Mac_Pro). The Mac Pro will be updated this year.
The biggest surprise would be if it DIDN'T have a thunderbolt port.

Make sure thier insurance company doesn't shaft you on compensation for your days off for medical attention, etc. Document visits to the dr., physiotherapist, etc. When I had a numbnuts turn left right in front of me, I slammed the brake so hard I pulled all the muscles in my leg and limped for 2 weeks. The insurance co. was ready to settle just for the car damages, but caved when I gave them the evidence and gave me three days pay for my time off and the medical costs.
i don't want to be to much of a b**** to the kid. He made his very large mistake and I think that he learned his lesson from his totalled car, broken arm, and extremely jacked up insurance bill. It wasn't my car though- am I still eligible? You should of heard me lecture him. Haha.
His insurance company is going to drop him I swear. $70,000 car, 2 doctor's time off from work, our medical bills, his destroyed car....

There's a particular work server where we store vendor info, etc. that I am unable to connect to. Using the same info at a PC station worked, and I am able to access another work server from my Mac without trouble.
I've checked my keychain info and restarted the computer many times (SSD booting makes that fun!).
Is there "buried" info that I need to discard from my machine, to make a clean connection?
Any help is appreciated. An amateur search on MRoogle turned up nothing, for me.
Thanks!

I have an iPhone and just got it. Old one got stolen and I got the free bumper with it, but I was wondering if there was any way to get a free bumper now?
I still have the problem when I hold the band on the left and if I go into an Apple Store and show them this will they pull a bumper off the shelves for me?

It's a niche market for now, and most users don't use it at all. But once peripherals start using TB, it will become more widespread. But peripheral manufacturers won't rush out products until there is a good install base of computers that support TB. For that to happen, Apple will need to support it throughout its product line. Whether that happens this year or by the beginning of 2012 depends on when the products get updated. All new Macs will have TB.
Of course, if it's limited to Macs it will still be a niche market. Unless it's adopted by the PC market, it could become the next FireWire (superior to USB in many respects, but not omnipresent like the latter). In addition to hard drives and monitors, I think we'll soon see TB connectors on scanners, cameras and more.
In terms of bandwidth, the desktop can do better by using other cards in PCIe slots. On the laptops though, it offers more bandwidth than they've had access to previously (eSATA ExpressSlot cards aren't anywhere near as fast as TB is).
TB is convenient for laptops and devices as well, which is expected to help promote adoption for that market (i.e. see single disks on TB, and allow for others to be connected to a single port via Daisy Chaining). And Intel's aimed this at all computer users (even seen a phone advertised with TB), so it's not exclusive to Apple. So I do expect more devices to actually ship within a year or so as adoption increases (need more systems to release that are currently in development, as like you, I do see a bit of a "chicken and egg" situation).

Congratulations! I hate you. :D
As for the mouse, I recommend the Kensington PocketMouse Pro - the wired one. It's USB cable retracts completely. It's a two-button scroll and zero config. Plug'n go.
There is a wireless version, but personally I don't want to deal with the batteries or the possibility of losing the tranceiver.
If you want less of a traveler, and more of a desktopper, you can do the Kensington Studio Mouse, or my personal UberMouse, the Logitech MX700

Hmm, that is even more confusing because I got the $134 education discount on the Apple's site.
Those numbers don't sound right. $2349? Apple doesn't sell anything at that price point unless you have 27" configured with some BTO

Take www.barefeats.com recent FW800 test as an example...
Of what, I don't know. But at least he ran a test and played with the darn things.

What happened, OP?
The OP has a simple question, :o but was a little unclear in their description, so we ask or clarification. :( Next thing you know we're arguing over the terms, ranting about our pet peeves, over-describing the problem, re-defining definitions we all understand, and... no response from poor OP.
We probably scared him away.
Come back little feller! ;)
dmz
I couldn't agree more dmz. The guy just wanted some simple advice and as usual out come the soap boxes!!
The way I read it, the OP was doing a "job" in Illustrator which involved placing and tracing an image. Said image must have been too low res or too small and so resulting trace was not up to scratch. The client has said that a better quality image be used to result in a better quality vector.
OP, the quality of your trace will be governed by the quality of your source image. Relying on Live Trace alone is not always ideal, and as has been suggested elsewhere a certain amount of "tweaking" will be required.
I doubt whether we'll ever find out anymore from the OP because if it were me I'd have given up on this thread ages ago and found my help and advice elsewhere!

Facebooks "privacy" policy seems to change on a daily basis.
I agree with the above poster TBH, try a week without it.
I just can`t bring myself to feed Zuckerbergs private data-mining operation.

you know of any ways I could?
What kind of iphone in question is slow?
My guess would be an iphone 3G correct?
Usually a restore and setup as new will fix most lag but if you're on a 3G and higher than 3.1.3 it will drag either way.
I would suggest to update to a 3GS or iphone 4. You wont be able to make it go any faster cause the hardware is not there to handle the latest iOS well.

I would definitely work on improving the lighting. Maybe some better lamps? And, yes, definitely put up some wall art. Your space needs color!
Is that other room a grow house? ;) Could you move one of the plants to your main bedroom?
Also, mirrors can help a small space feel larger and/or more open.
Good luck!

One of the people I know uses a 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo Mac Mini with 4GB of ram, and it's reasonably fast. I'm sure the newer model 2.4GHz will suit your needs just fine, however keep in mind rendering files for say a 25 min long 720p film with 2.1 audio takes about 10 or so minutes on that machine.

There was a snafu when the new forum first went up where non-demis could access the private forum. I'm pretty sure arn just eliminated all access for the time being, until he sorts out some other upgrade issues.

I made a couple of requests over the past couple of days to delete songs that I submitted to this data base. Those songs had zero recommendations and I no longer cared for the song. So far those delete requests seem to have been ignored.
When DailyTunes first came online I asked whether we could get songs deleted and I was given a rather non-commital answer. I suppose that I now have my answer and it appears to be no.
When it comes to data such as personal song recommendations, I feel that the user should have some say in how that data is used, especially when one's name/handle is associated with it. People change their tastes over time and I should be able to remove items that I no longer recommend. Instead, as with so many data bases in this day and age, that data seems to have become the "property" of someone else.

So i went to the store to check out the new mini ipods. But none were on display. So i ask about the 'new colors' listed on the site, and all the employees were like what new colors. Personally, the blue, on the site looks different, a lot better, like it has a hint of green in it.
And the 4gb minis, are really the same as the ones they sold before. Which means they probably don't have and 18 hr battery.
So does anyone actually have one of these. And do they look different in color.??

wOow... now that's something: after ~10 years since videocalling feature was firstly commercial available, seems that iPhone will (maybe/probably/hopefully?) get it in 2010 with a front camera. Now that's a fast to market thingy... not to mention the MMS. :o
Way to go Apple! :D
