The iMac doesn't use graphics switching like the MacBook Pro. So the discrete graphics are always enabled. I don't think the Intel HD 3000 graphics is even visible to the OS

Thank you. They have wonderful eyes and many have nice smiles. I'm sure they're all very good people; I only wish I could have the chance to get to know them better.

I suspect most of you aren't old enough to have been driving cars in the 1970's. The 55 mph national speed limit. The general consensus that it was just wrong. And the civil disobedience that sprang from that. It was the nearly complete disregard for that limit that led to it being changed. Once a law or regulation becomes so extreme that it leaves rationality behind, people start to ignore it or find ways to avoid it. I would argue that 9.5% sales tax is having that same effect. Especially when you consider it is on top of Federal income tax. And state. And local. And Social Security. And Medicare. And health care.
"Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle! Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did, and it never will.
Find out just what people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue until they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress." - Frederick Douglass
What you fail to point out is that brick-and mortar merchants such as the ones in your community that help offset your local real estate taxes don't have the option of not charging sales tax. So, the online merchants have an unfair advantage, which reduces brick-and-mortar sales, which reduces the amount of local taxes collected from those brick-and-mortar stores, which results in your residential real estate taxes increasing.
I realize you'll likely counter by saying that government should just cut its expenses, but that doesn't address the matter that permitting one class of merchant to avoid a sales tax especially with large-ticket items such as $2,000 computers but not others creates an unfair market.
Don't get me wrong I love the convenience of online shopping and I love saving money, but mercantile tax rates should be applied equally.

Firewire 800 is worth the premium over USB2 for video editing, but the additional bandwidth USB3 offers wouldn't see much use with most hobbiest video editors.
Almost all 2.5" drives can be bus-powered, and the highest capacity I've seen is 1.5TB.

@AlphaDogg - OF COURSE they could see the logic board corrosion when they went to replace the inverter board and the display. The logic board is the MAIN component in the machine and manages the display, among other things. They have to detach the display cables from the logic board before they start replacing any other components.
I have taken apart that MacBook soo many times since they found the water damage. The display cable is on TOP of the logic board, not on the bottom. This means that the logic board doesn't need to me removed. The inverter board is in the hinge cover, which still doesn't require for the logic board to be removed.

LOL. Climte gate showed the world that junk science and data suppression are the norm amongst these fraudsters, and that they'll stoop to any level to "prove" their preposterous theories. These global warming "scientists" are laughing stocks.
LOL, no.
But it's not all bad news: your "post" has been "entered" in the MacRumors "Best Use of Sarcastically-Intended Quotations" "competition" for "2011." Good luck!

I'm not saying that your post really deserves a response, but c'mon...what do you expect? You downloaded and installed Kazaa, which is known for being spyware and adware infested and then you get (oh my!) adware and spyware. Not that surprising if you ask me.
With that said, just follow the directions that the last guy posted and you will get rid of it. There are versions of both Kazaa and limewire that come with or without adware and spyware, so just make sure that you are getting the good version (it might take some time to look for them.) Hope this helps!

Macs are very picky about booting from legacy OSes (read Windows) on USB. Most of the time it will not work even with rEFIt.
Either burn it to an optical disc and use that, or look for the "without super drive" thread to find instructions on how to do it using VM software or creating a bootable partition on your internal drive.

Realized I was probably being a bit too harsh on the router. It works as well as other routers. I just need more range. Is there anyway I could increase the range of the router?
I've heard about Omni directional antennas and range extenders.
Any suggestions?

You sound like me. I have a few genres that I made up:
PFunk
AlternRock (80s alternative to some new stuff most people don't find POPular)
Dance/Disco
And I agree: Billy Joel is def not in the same genre as Rush.
Prince has his own genre: Funk/Rock & Roll
I generally search for music based on genre.

I think that apple should defiantly make the ipod nano have a scroll wheel again. Leave the touch screen to the ipod touch. I think that apple should have made what is now the nano the ipod shuffle, and made a different nano. Maybe with a different software update though that would make it so that it could do more.

I have the same problem. The paper clip icon is in the top pane, showing me that there's an attachment in the email, but the attachment button to save or view is NOWHERE. When I forward, there is no attachment included. Didn't have this problem 3 days ago, but I do now!

A link to what? A summary of Climategate? I'll let you flex your google-muscles on that one.

First result on google.
Well, look at that, overwhelming consensus that there was little to worry about in the leak except for some transparency issues, and that the science behind it is still as strong as ever.

I honestly do not think that much of what we saw today was the real iPhone. I am led to believe that everything from the phone calls to the satellite maps was all carefully planned, downloaded, packaged, and arranged as to prevent something from going on. I don't think that one of the calls made in that room today was legit. As such, they did not break the law regarding FCC. Nor is it false advertising, for the product millions of people end up buying will do everything Steve showed today, yet in a much less "science-lab" sense.
Also, the FCC could argue that what Steve did today was not really a test. Once your product is done being tested it has to receive FCC clearance. Or else anybody could go out and make walkie talkies or their own cell phone or other wireless devices.
